Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is care primarily concerned with the remediation of body impairments. It promotes mobility, functional ability, quality of life and movement potential. These therapies and motilities are designed to target symptoms seen in inflammation. Here are some of the treatments we offer:

Postural Correction

This is evaluation and analysis of posture. It is used to determine imbalance to the support structure of the spinal column and its function.

Chronic Pain Care

Chronic skeletal pain arising from improper function can benefit greatly from chiropractic treatment, more specifically structural correction.

Spinal Decompression

To be more specific, this is non-surgical spinal decompression used for treating Spinal Stenosis, bulging discs and Sciatica. Also, best used for the low back, arm and hand numbness, neck pain, herniated discs, headaches, shoulder pains, bulging or slipped discs, degenerative disc disease.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound uses sonic waves to move fluid, create heat, and decrease swelling while increasing circulation. It is very useful for deep bruises, soft tissue injuries, inflammation in small joints, and tissue modification. The first thing you think about when you hear ultrasound is a baby and a sonogram. However, ultrasound technology has many different important uses in all different fields. In Chiropractic, ultrasound is used as a pain reliever. How? Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to vibrate soft tissues in our body. This vibration creates heat which helps blood flow increase. This increase delivers oxygen and nutrients to the bothered area. Ultrasound also removes cell waste. When your body fluids flow better it helps relieve pain and inflammation.

Theraupeutic Exercises

Structural Rehabilitation to correct posture improving spinal function and functional rehab which focuses on strength and functional ability.

Postural Corrections Exercises

Mirror image exercises usually associated with postural correction. An analysis of your posture is performed, usually correlated to x-rays, and then applied to correct your posture.

Traction

Postural correction traction is designed to take information from x-rays and posture to determine the best way to improve structure and function of the spinal column.

ART (Active Release Technique)

Active Release Technique is used to treat muscle, tendon, ligament, and nerve problems. Some similar techniques you may have heard of are as follows; Graston, more recently physical therapists have cloned this technique and now call it A-Stim. Active Release Technique releases overused muscles that have become shorter and weaker due to continuous strain. This gives the tightened area room to move. These techniques all use the same premise. This movement allows any nerves or blood vessels that have been under strain the ability to flow smoothly. Active Release Technique is used for scar tissue and overused muscles.

Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy (ice) uses low temperatures to remove heat from a part of the body. This therapy’s purpose is to decrease the metabolism of your cells. Decreasing the metabolism of your cells decreases inflammation, pain, and spasm. The cold temperatures slow down the cell activity in the bothered area as well as slowing down the nerve conduction, or heat transferring. Cryotherapy is used to relieve pain in recent injuries usually resulting from car accidents.

Intersegmant Traction

This is traction designed to continue movement of the spine after spinal adjustments. In other words provide the spine with the ability to learn proper movement and function after the adjustment. Intersegment Traction is used to relieve spinal pain and to reduce the occurrences of pain and stiffness. This helps train the spine to stay in motion. Intersegment Traction also helps the fluids flow, contributing to the mobility of your joint.

Moist Heat Therapy

Moist Heat Therapy provides natural pain relief through heat. Not to mention it feels really nice. Using heat pads, Moist Heat Therapy helps increase circulation and decrease muscle spasms.

Inferential Muscle Stimulation Therapy

Electrical stimulation designed primarily for pain management. It creates a local cellular response creating natural pain killers in the body. IMST is a treatment using electrical currents to help relieve pain. When these currents pass through your body, they produce a massaging effect. This massage puts your natural pain relievers into action, these are called endorphins. Your endorphins then move to help relax your strained muscles and heal your soft-tissue. IMST is most often used to treat muscular spasms and strains from car accidents and chronic pain.

Cold Laser Therapy

Cold Laser Therapy is used to treat neck pain, arthritis in the bones, and tendonitis. Cold Laser Therapy uses low-level lasers to stimulate cell function. This stimulation increases the rate of healing by producing more ATP, cells energy source. Cold Laser Therapy speeds up the healing process, leading to a speedy recovery.
