The Salt Lake Tribune reports that lighter traffic patterns for Martin Luther King Day don’t necessarily equal less accidents on the free way. The snow storm that hit Sunday night caused more than 100 crashes in Northern Utah during the Monday commute. Utah High Way patrol commented that people see less traffic on the roads and assume they can drive faster, they don’t take into consideration that regardless of how many people are on the roads they still have to drive according to the weather conditions.
