The Salt Lake Tribune reported a significant accident on I-15 Wednesday morning just outside Roy, Utah.  Around 5 am a Semitruck rig carrying two trailers with around 7,500 gallons of diesel gasoline rolled over and impacted the median on I-15.  The accident spewed an estimated 5,000 gallons of gasoline along the road and the soil surrounding the free way.  The vehicle immediately caught fire and and shut down traffic in both directions, thankfully no other vehicles were involved in the accident.

The 55 year old driver, whose name has not been released, escaped the tragedy with non life threatening shoulder injuries.  He was taken to the Mckay Dee Hospital where his injuries were treated and it was discovered that the driver may have been under the influence of drugs while driving the rig.

If you or a loved one has been involved in any type of accident you are more than aware of how life altering they can be.  This truck driver miraculously escaped this accident with a few minor injuries, which is quite the exception to the rule.  In general any type of accident involving a semi-truck or tractor trailer involves serious injuries.  The impact of colliding vehicles with each other or stationery objects like a median can cause whiplash, ruptured spinal discs, misalignment of the spine and many many other unseen injuries that may not manifest themselves immediately.

Driving under the influence is irresponsible and illegal, however it is just as irresponsible to not be treated by a chiropractic physician after you have been in an accident.  Unseen injuries left untreated will only become aggravated and more permanent when they do manifest themselves as tingling in the fingers, back or neck pain, migrains, migrating pain through the face, immune system disruption and many others.  For more information on what you should do after a car accident contact Utah Chiropractor, Dr. Dirk Woodmansee today for a free consultation and X-ray.  It’s your life… live it in health!
